About US
C&R’s history is a true tale of American entrepreneurship.
With the help of his father, Owner Chris Bottino started C&R Printing at just 12 years old in the basement of his parent’s Bristol, CT, home. A used printing press and a few odd jobs offered Chris the hobby he was looking for and, much to his father’s liking, helped him avoid delivering newspapers like many of his friends.
Even as a youngster, Chris demonstrated perseverance, commitment, and true business skills, all of which helped him transform his “hobby” into a thriving business. He continued to grow C&R throughout middle school and high school, and by the time high school graduation came around, C&R had outgrown the Bottino family home. Ready to head off to college, Chris moved the business into the 3rd floor of the historic Sessions Clock Building and hired his first employee to oversee operations so he could focus part time on his studies.
After four years at UCONN, Chris graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and a minor in material science. Despite a plethora of career paths to choose from, Chris’s passion drove him back to the printing business, which over the past 25 years has become one of the region’s top production vendors, serving clients across the country.
Under the mentorship of his father, Chris learned at a very early age the importance of operating with integrity, providing impeccable service, and producing superior quality work in running a successful, enduring business. It’s through exceeding expectations in these areas that Chris has been able to capture 100% customer loyalty for 25 years.
